Sophi's New Shark Friend

Sophi had dinner with her new shark friend in Miami, Jim Abernethy. He is a photographer, author and conservationist that works with Imax, national geographic, etc. Jim also owns a scuba adventure company that Sophi hopes to go out with some day. Sophi definitely has a new shark friend to admire. Jim presented Sophi with a copy his Shark book (compliments of Grandma) that he had signed just for her. She had to bring it to school as soon as she got back to show everyone.

Sophi wanted to point out how cool Jim's backpack is!!

Dr. Neil and Sophi check out a picture of a tiger shark called Emma in the book. Emma is Jim's shark - she swims right to him when he is diving.

Sophi gets another surprise - her very own Emma (I hope Sharkie doesn't get jealous).

A final surprise from Jim was that he nominated Sophi for the Wyland foundation Youth Ambassador to the Planet Award... and the nomination was accepted. What an honor - we are over the moon proud and excited for her.

Sophi added this night to her "Best Ever" list!!
