Two flights later we were back in MN (without our luggage). Sophi was trying to make the trip last longer by keeping all of her wristbands on as long as she could! While Signe on the other hand could not wait to get back to her normal self (she was not a fan of only having 1 outfit per day that completely matched)! Thanks for sharing Atlantis with us Auntie Kelli!
Our fabulous vacation has come to an end. After a tearful goodbye, the four of us headed to the airport. We had a snack, got some Bahama coins for the girls and then it was time to board the plane. The girls loved this big fish statue in the terminal. Farewell Bahamas. What an amazing trip!
Mom and Jon flew in this afternoon, so we all got cleaned up for a family dinner out at Mesa. Signe even got to wear Auntie Kelli's make-up. Doesn't she look pretty? I am so sad that I didn't get a family shot at dinner... The food was great!
The lagoon next to the stingrays had baby hammerheads in it. We, of course, had to sit and watch them for a while! I think that Sophi wanted to take one home!
The girls were selected to be part of AquaTots this afternoon were they would be assisting with feeding the stingray. We met the instructor by the lagoon. He first taught them the "Stingray Shuffle" - They had to shuffle their feet through the water so that they didn't injure themselves or the stingray. He taught them about stingrays and then they each got a little bucket with shrimp in it and entered the water. (Sophi had a little reaction to the shrimp and had to hang back a bit for this part). Once the feeding was done, they learned all about starfish.
Then they got up close with a Conch.
Signe was very interested.
What a cool experience! Sawyer was not old enough to go in, but he squealed enough and got his very own bucket too.
Kelli and I went out for dinner at Nobu tonight. It was fun to have some sister time and the food was amazing! We had to hunt down Chocolate Chip cookies and Ginger Ale for dessert - It was what the baby wanted!
After Arts & Crafts, we decided to check out another pool. With the floating lobster and a fountain - it was a big hit. The girls quickly discovered that the lobster was fun to jump off of. Signe dives in. Sophi decides to slide off. Playing under the fountain. We brought Sawyer here the next day and it proved to be one of his favorite pools too!
Neil and Sawyer were resting, so the girls and I hopped on the bus and headed for Arts & Crafts. Signe was excited that she got to sit in the very front seat next to the driver. They made mosaic tiled coasters.
After The Dig, we decided to walk over and check out some of the big water slides. The girls and I in front of the Michael Jordan Suite in the Royal Towers (that's were I want to stay next time - it's only $25,000/night). A few of the bigger water slides start in this building.... ...And end through a tube in this shark-filled pool! You could walk down below to get a better view.
The Dig, one of the largest aquariums in the world, was at the top of our list to visit while in the Bahamas. When you enter, there are lobsters walking in the ceiling (sorry the picture is dark).
Lion fish It was amazing - everywhere you turned there were cool fish and sea creatures to look at. Our little "Vanna Whites" pointing out the fish.
Jelly fish - one of my favorites to watch.
More fish
Sawyer loved checking out all of the fish while relaxing in his stroller.
Signe kept trying to catch the fish - she wanted them to stay still so she could check them out better.
Eels - not an attractive animal.
The kids and I posing in front of some old Atlantian dive gear - Do you like the smog effect?
We thought this starfish was pretty funny with only 4 points.
Neil volunteered to hold the Conch.
The pictures really don't do the awesomeness of this place justice.
