Sophi had an exciting Tuesday last week (5/25) - the
RJD Shark Research team honored her by naming the first Tiger shark that they tagged after her (also the 1st tagged in the Gulf of Mexico). It was 8 feet 3 inches. Now Sophi the Tiger shark can be followed on
http://www.rjd.miami.edu/. If you go to the sight you can click on Learning tools and then on Track Sophi. (You need to download Google Earth). They cover the eyes to calm the shark down and keep the pump in its' mouth because sharks need water moving through their gills to breathe.
