Sophi went to bed last night with the what I thought was the biggest smile I have ever seen on her face. She was so excited to go with Captain Curt and Dr. Neil on a shark research trip the next morning! She even got her own
RJ Dunlap Shark Research shirt to wear. She poses with the Captain before they board the boat.
She waits patiently with Grandpa to leave for their all day excursion.
Auntie Kelli was in charge of data today and Sophi is wishing for the data to be all about a hammerhead - her favorite kind of shark!

Her
biggest dream was about to come true - - - an 11'6" hammerhead!!!
The shark was named "Sweet Caroline" and tagged so we can follow its' signal on the computer.
There she goes....
Everyone takes a moment to do the hammerhead dance as Sophi looks on!
Then she joins in!... I think her smile is growing!?!
Next up, a 9' Lemon that Sophi named Larry (after her Grandpa).

They also caught a couple of nurse sharks that day.
After about 7 hours on the water, she returns.....
..and her smile has grown again! She was shaking with excitement!
