How Does She Eat?

Sophi lost her 7th tooth today (she pulled this one out all by herself)! What will the toothfairy leave under her pillow tonight?

Signe wanted her picture taken too! She has not lost any teeth yet.

Good-Bye!

After lots of hugs and a few tears (OK, lots), we started our journey home. First, we drove to Ft. Lauderdale. Second, we flew to Detroit - the girls liked riding the airport train to make our connecting flight.

Finally, with 30 minutes of flying to go, after Signe declared, "She was over this!", we landed in Minneapolis.

The girls were so excited to see Dad after being gone for almost a week!

We had a blast in Islamorada and can't wait to go back again!

Our Final Vacation DInner

It was our final night in Islamorada so we all went out for sushi at Kaiyo.

The girls had a lot of fun with the chopsticks...

and the food was great!

Relaxing

After feeding the tarpon, we shopped around a bit and then took a load off for a while in the hammock yard.

Feeding The Tarpons

Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Kelli, the girls and I went over to Robbies to feed the tarpon today.
The tarpon....
and the pelicans were waiting.
We got our buckets of fish and headed to the end of the dock.

Seashells

My mom and I took the girls over to the ocean to look for seashells this afternoon.

Thanks to Krissy for letting us trespass - they both brought home about a bunch!

These little holes were dug out all over - not sure if they were from crabs or turtles.

We also saw this cool sailboat go by.

We walked the beach until the girls were all worn out. Sophi took a break before we headed back.

Just Hanging Out

While the ladies went for the morning walk, Sophi decided to go with the guys to Midway for breakfast (she loves it there and missed out the day before). She brought her leftovers home in a tinfoil "turtleduck".

It rained on and off today, but that didn't stop the girls from playing outside.

It was nice to have a mellow day to play around.

Bonk!

One of Sawyer's favorite games to play is "Bonk"! He leans forward and them bonks his head back on his highchair - - - then he laughs and laughs. I think it is so funny.

Next time you see him, just say Bonk and he will probably share his trick with you!

Pool Time

Signe and Sawyer spent a little playtime in the pool.

After her lunch, Alexis joined in the fun too!

In the end, I am not sure if the pool or the patio had more water!?!

Signe's Walk

While Sophi was out Sharking, Signe decided we should go for a walk. First, we stopped at Angelos to buy some tictacs. Second, we watched the lizards run around for a while.

Then, we stopped to throw some rocks into the canal.

Finally, she wanted to stop and smell the flowers.

Sophi's Best Day Ever!!!

Sophi went to bed last night with the what I thought was the biggest smile I have ever seen on her face. She was so excited to go with Captain Curt and Dr. Neil on a shark research trip the next morning! She even got her own RJ Dunlap Shark Research shirt to wear. She poses with the Captain before they board the boat.
She waits patiently with Grandpa to leave for their all day excursion.
Auntie Kelli was in charge of data today and Sophi is wishing for the data to be all about a hammerhead - her favorite kind of shark!
Sophi surrounded by some of her favorite sharking friends, Auntie Kelli, Captain Curt, and her new friend and pen pal, Dr. Neil Hammerschlag.
Her biggest dream was about to come true - - - an 11'6" hammerhead!!!

The shark was named "Sweet Caroline" and tagged so we can follow its' signal on the computer.

There she goes....

Everyone takes a moment to do the hammerhead dance as Sophi looks on!

Then she joins in!... I think her smile is growing!?!

Next up, a 9' Lemon that Sophi named Larry (after her Grandpa).
Dr. Neil, Sophi and "Lemon Larry" showing their teeth.

Sophi reaches in to pet him.

And off he goes....

Sophi records drawings and stats - notice her lucky shark shoes!

They also caught a couple of nurse sharks that day.

After about 7 hours on the water, she returns.....

..and her smile has grown again! She was shaking with excitement!
Thank you so much to Dr. Neil for letting her come along!!
