Half-Haunted Halloween

Today we headed off to Woodlake Nature center with some friends and neighbors for a nature filled Halloween party. Here all all the kids ready to start the halloween hike.

This was the entrance that set the mood...

About every 15-20 feet there was a carved pumpkin

Our first stop was to receive a toothbrush from a giant bat

Then Count Dracula gave us some teeth

Our neighbor Paige was a busy bee

The kids hiked the trail and completed obsticles for treats - their reward at the end was hot chocolate, cookies and a spooky magic show

With the help of 2 giant spiders, Sophi swings on their "web"

Sophi and her friend Natalie had a fun time together

Next stop was getting through the mouse's maze

Hopefully we won't get stopped by the giant frog on the other side

The frog can't stop Sophi and Steffanee (behind her) from getting across the lily pads.

Next you were supposed to find the racoon hiding in one of the many trash cans - - - Signe made it easier for everyone, she lifted it out so all could see.

The kids had to add a stick to the beaver's house on their way by

Then they had to sneak an apple from the sleeping skunk - thank goodness nobody got sprayed!

Then we all went inside for some face painting.

Sophi got a ghost.

Natalie - a pumpkin

Signe went twice

She ended up with a witches hat and a pumpkin

Steffanee went for the pumpkin . . . After face painting, we played some Bingo and then headed outside for some more games and the animals

There were ducks, goats, turkeys, sheep, bunnies, a pony and a couple of llamas, oh my!

At the end of the afternoon, fun was had by all.
Then we were off to Natalie and Paige's for a potluck.
